I thought this would make an excellent Suzuki Sidekick commercial. If you could see the wild road we had just come down to get here, you would agree!

This is Prim's "kitchen." He typically goes spearfishing and prepares lunch for his clients over this primitive fire pit.

I have the bay all to myself for swimming. It is the perfect temperature, but a little too muddy from the rain for snorkeling.

Since it is too wet for a fire, Prim prepares fresh coconut for me when I get out of the water.

We stop at a "snackette" for "Bakes," which is like a Johnny cake, split in half and filled with either roasted chicken or melted cheese. They were quite delicious.

This is Prim's Uncle, Neville. He last trimmed his beard 18 years ago.

Another interesting stop on Prim's island tour is the roadside stand selling "bush rum," where drivers pull off the road for a shot of rum. Not very comforting on these scary roads!

This one was by far the most tasty. This is the "spice rum," infused with strips of cinnamon bark.

All the bottles on the bottom row of this shelf are bush rum, which is "cask rum" (distilled and aged in a wooden cask) and infused with some herb, bark, or spice.

Halfway through our island tour, Prim produces a copy of an article published in "Caribbean Travel and Life" magazine, dedicated to his beach culinary experience.

This is the cross-island road that goes through the Central Forest Reserve. The road is temporarily closed for construction, but we drive through anyway. Prim says he thinks we can get through with 4WD, and we do!

We stop to have a look around what appears to be an abandoned eco lodge, "River Rush," yet all the beds were made as if they were expecting guests. Very eerie. This is a flower from their garden.
